Print Checklist

  1. Well Rested & Fed

Get a good night’s sleep and eat a good meal before arriving. You might want to limit liquids since there are no bathrooms in the cave.

  2. Arrive Early

Arrive at 9:30 to allow time to check in, use the restroom, etc.

  3. Dress the Part

Whatever you wear will never look the same due to cave mud. Don’t wear your favorite clothing!

    • Hightop boots are required with good traction
    • Dress in layers of loose, non-absorbent clothing
    • An inner layer of polypropylene, wool, or silk undergarments will help keep you warm. Thermal underwear can be substituted.
    • Two layers of socks or heavy hiking socks will help to keep your feet warm. Or you can wear neoprene booties if you have them inside your shoes.

  4. Pack a Snack

Bring a candy bar or other snack to eat during the trip (PayDay, Milky Way, granola bar, or jerky are ideas). You can bring a drink in a plastic bottle for the trip, but glass or cans are not allowed. You may want to bring food and drinks for after the trip; you work up an appetite. Snack are available for purchase at the cave, too.

  5. Change of Clothes

Pack a change of clothes including shoes and under garments in a large plastic trash bag. You can use this page to take your wet, muddy clothes home. There will be a place to change clothes after the trip, but no showers. Wet wipes might be helpful, or a rag and water to wipe off with.

  6. Sign Waiver

Download and sign our waiver of liability form prior to arrival. You can sign at the cavern if you need to, just be sure to arrive early to do so.
